This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Atheni Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use the Wise Five website and assessment (the "Service"), why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. It also explains the rights you have over your information under UK and EU data-protection law.
Who controls your data
Atheni Ltd is the data controller for information collected through the Service. You can reach us at privacy@atheni.ai.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Assessment answers and result — the choices you make in the Wise Five quiz and the level we calculate for you.
- Signature details— if you sign the Wise Five Manifesto, the name, role, organisation and email you provide, and whether you've opted in to be listed publicly.
- Technical data — anonymised analytics such as page views, device type, browser, and country (city-level), used to improve the Service.
- Communications — any messages you send us by email.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not pass it to advertising networks.
Why we use it
- To deliver your assessment result and improve the questionnaire.
- To publish the founding coalition list (only the fields you've consented to publish).
- To respond to your enquiries and notify you of material changes to the Service.
- To detect fraud and protect the integrity of the assessment.
- To produce aggregated, anonymised statistics about AI literacy trends.
Legal basis
We rely on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR:
- Consent — for publishing your name in the public coalition list and for any marketing emails.
- Legitimate interest — for running, securing and improving the Service.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records for tax, accounting or regulatory reasons.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and local-storage entries — mainly to remember your assessment progress and to count site visits in aggregate. You can clear these from your browser at any time. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Sharing
We share data with a short list of trusted processors who help us operate the Service (hosting, email delivery, anonymous analytics). They process your data only on our instructions and under contractual data-protection obligations. We will publish the current list on request.
Storage and security
Your data is stored in the UK and the European Economic Area on encrypted infrastructure. We retain assessment answers and signature records for as long as you have consented to be listed, plus a reasonable period after to handle any queries. Anonymised statistics may be kept indefinitely.
Your rights
You have the right to access a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it, erase it, restrict how we use it, object to certain uses, and request a portable export of it. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@atheni.ai. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will always show the current version. Material changes will be announced on the website.
